Carlyon Funeral Directors are pleased to announce we are now working alongside the National Trust to contribute towards the cost of planting and establishing 20 millions trees by 2030.

For each family we support, we will donate enough money for 5 sampling’s to be planted.

Our families will each receive a framed certificate. We will help these historical, beautiful and natural places to thrive forever and at the same time, Carlyon Funeral Directors will be able to help establish a woodland where our families can visit and remember their loved ones.

After A Bereavement

Bereavement, whether unexpected or expected, can be a traumatic experience; that is why we offer professional, experienced assistance to families throughout Cornwall day and night.

Some things you may need to do right away, such as arranging for your loved one to be transferred into our care. Remember, we are here to advise and guide you, so please contact us if you require assistance during this difficult time.

Other decisions, such as making funeral arrangements, can be made right away or delayed until you are ready to deal with them. The things that must be done right away will vary depending on the specific circumstances of your bereavement.

There are times when someone passes away outside of office hours, at weekends or bank holidays, which is why we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. My husband Martin grew up in porthtowan and Mount Hawke so this felt so right having you look after him and us during the time leading up to the funeral . From the moment Andrea visited me at home to discuss the funeral , with such care , compassion and understanding , to the day of the funeral , I cannot fault anything . Andrea has such a soft kind approach , nothing was too much trouble , everything I wanted for Martin Andrea sorted . The actual day of the funeral was made so very special by the thought that was put in from Andrea and the team at Carlyons , the AA wanted to give Martin an outstanding send off and Andrea worked with them to make it seamless . They went above and beyond from taking dad into their care, treating him with dignity and respect, and turning every wish for the funeral into reality, including the Land Rover Defender hearse, and the clay shooting display on the coffin. From the first phone call, Carlyon’s took care of all aspects of the passing of my Dad with the utmost professionalism, care and consideration towards all of the family.

From when Chris was picked up till the day of his funeral Andrea and Dave were amazing, caring and couldn’t do enough for us as a family. Always with the upmost respect. They allowed us to you Chris’ van to carry his body and arranged for a last lap of the banger race course. The flowers, they day went so well and was all about Chris. I’m sure he would have loved to have seen the amount of people who payed respect. The whole team were absolutely amazing. I cannot rate them enough.
