Yesterday, we honored the memory of the beloved farmer, Lennard Barrett, in a heartfelt celebration of his life.
We ensured that Lennard received a fitting farewell, going above and beyond to make every detail perfect. Last week, the vegetable trailer was delivered to the funeral home, marking the beginning of our efforts to create a special atmosphere in remembrance of Lennard.
Two years ago, Lennard’s tractor found a place in the farm shed upon his retirement, grappling with mechanical issues. However, thanks to Nathan, Lennard’s friend, colleague, and the farm fitter, who dedicated considerable effort to overhaul the tractor, it was back on the road in time to transport Lennard to his funeral service. The procession featured three tractors and the vegetable trailer, a touching tribute to Lennard’s farming legacy.
Along the route, colleagues from Riviera Produce lined the road with their tractors outside the crematorium, expressing their respect for Lennard. Farmers gathered at the entrance of the crematorium with shovels, creating a solemn guard of honor for their departed friend.
The funeral service was a packed and emotional event, with an overwhelming turnout of family and friends. We extend our gratitude to Flowers by Diane for the exquisite floral arrangements and to Celebrant Rebecca Morris for delivering a heartfelt service.
Special thanks to Lennard’s wife, Shirley, and their wonderful family for entrusting us with the honour of caring for Lennard. The sight was truly stunning and deeply moving, reflecting the profound impact Lennard had on the lives of those who knew him.
